About Our Montessori Infant Child Care Program

We understand the tender feeling of wondering whether your baby is ready for a school environment, every parent carries that same question close to their heart. At Laguna Niguel Montessori, we follow Dr. Maria Montessori's lifelong understanding that the earliest weeks, months, and years are when children learn the most, grow the most, and need the deepest sense of safety. That's why our program is more than day care in Orange County. It's a warm beginning and a place where your baby is loved, protected, and free to explore in a calm, thoughtfully prepared environment. With gentle touch, patient guidance, and deeply nurturing routines, we let your little one bloom in their own time.

From 6 Months to 24 Months: Supporting Early Child Development

Your baby's earliest months are full of tiny miracles: their first smiles, first discoveries, first attempts to reach for the world. Our infant program supports each moment with tenderness, patience, and the belief that babies should be cherished, not hurried. Infants from 6 to 24 months are welcomed into soft, inviting spaces where exploration is safe, and every need is met with love. With each new movement or sound, your child is gently guided toward understanding their world.

Sensory Development

Babies explore through touch, sound, taste, movement, and sight. Our sensory experiences are calm and meaningful, including soft fabrics, natural materials, warm light, and soothing sounds. These have all been chosen to support healthy brain development. Research by the National Association of the Education of Young Children shows that gentle sensory exploration helps little ones feel secure, curious, and comforted as they learn about their world.

Freedom of Movement & Gross Motor Skills

Your baby will never be confined in restrictive equipment. Instead, they are given room for tummy time, to stretch, roll, reach, crawl, and pull themselves up at their own pace. These opportunities help them build strength, balance, and physical confidence, without pressure or overstimulation.

Fine Motor Development

With simple, beautiful materials, like rings to grasp, objects to transfer, and textures to explore, babies develop early hand-eye coordination and purposeful movement. Each activity is slow, thoughtful, and designed to support your little ones' natural development.

Early Language Foundations

Language grows in the warmest moments, during shared smiles, story time, songs, and conversations. Our guides speak gently to your little ones, name everyday objects, and respond to every coo and babble. These loving verbal interactions help your little one feel understood and connected.

Practical Life: Early Independence

Even the smallest actions, like holding a bottle with your support, helping place a toy in a basket, or wiping a tiny spill, help build self-confidence in growing little ones. These early, sweet moments of independence help your child feel proud, capable, and included.

Emotional Security & Social Development

Your baby's emotional well-being is important to us. With consistent caregivers, soothing routines, and lots of snuggles and eye contact, your baby will feel safe and deeply loved. Gentle social moments like shared giggles, watching others, and soft turn-taking help babies learn trust and connection.

Cognitive Development & Problem-Solving

Through simple, meaningful materials like object permanence boxes and open-ended containers, babies begin to understand cause and effect. These early discoveries strengthen concentration, memory, and curiosity.

Peaceful Routines & Natural Rhythms

We follow your baby's cues, their body knows when they're hungry, tired, or ready to explore. With soft music, calm transitions, and comforting rituals, their day feels predictable, safe, and beautifully aligned to their needs.

Exploration Through Safe, Prepared Environments

Our Montessori classroom for infants is arranged with low shelves, cozy mats, mirrors, and easily accessible materials. Everything is at your baby's level so they can explore freely, safely, and confidently, always with the gentle guidance of loving guides.

The activities they plan for the kids, ways to give back to the school, the appreciation of teachers, and parent nights are wonderful here. They make efforts to get parents involved and care about the kids doing well. There was one teacher a year ago that was hurting children and was reported to the school and the police, and I do appreciate that there was action to remove the teacher and the director that perpetuated and allowed the behavior to continue. Overall this resolution continued to give me faith that the school was doing the best to keep our kids safe.
