What Makes Montessori Different at Laguna Niguel Montessori

Children are always learning, absorbing, and interpreting the world around them. It's essential that the world they experience is calm, intentional, and filled with the right messages. At Laguna Niguel Montessori, families discover a Montessori school that blends Dr. Maria Montessori's educational philosophy with the warmth of a caring, close-knit community. Our campus is peaceful, welcoming, and thoughtfully prepared so your baby, toddler, preschooler, or elementary child feels known, respected, and gently encouraged to grow at their own pace. Our Laguna Niguel campus is nestled near the family-friendly communities of Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo, and Dana Point, areas that reflect the same nurturing environment we offer at school.

What Sets Our Laguna Niguel Montessori Experience Apart

  • An Authentic Montessori education, which is guided by certified Montessori-trained guides who observe, support, and nurture each child's individual development.
  • Prepared environments that encourage independence, curiosity, movement, and hands-on learning.
  • Multi-age classrooms, in line with the American Montessori Society's guidelines, where younger students learn from older children, and older students gain leadership, empathy, and confidence.
  • Individualized learning paths where children work at their own pace in reading, writing, math, science, cultural studies, and practical life.
  • A whole-child approach that supports emotional well-being, social development, grace and courtesy, peaceful communication, and academic growth.

At Laguna Niguel Montessori, early childhood education feels personal, intentional, and truly child-centered, helping children develop independence, self-confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Ms. Athana is amazing at how she runs the school. She care so much about the students and also her teachers. The teachers are also amazing and caring. The montessori method has been perfect for our kids and this school sticks the the method and teaches our kids so many things in a fun way. The kids love school and that is so important to us!

The activities they plan for the kids, ways to give back to the school, the appreciation of teachers, and parent nights are wonderful here. They make efforts to get parents involved and care about the kids doing well. There was one teacher a year ago that was hurting children and was reported to the school and the police, and I do appreciate that there was action to remove the teacher and the director that perpetuated and allowed the behavior to continue. Overall this resolution continued to give me faith that the school was doing the best to keep our kids safe.

Me Athana is such an incredible head of school. She’s organized and caring and takes care of every family. Ms Tracy in classroom 1 developed such a special bond with my son. He was always so happy to see her and give her hugs!
